Famous FIJIs

Many FIJIs, including graduates of The Ohio State University, have gone on to accomplish incredible things in the public and private sectors. The following are a just a few of the Phi Gam’s who have now become household names.

Calvin Coolidge was the 30th President of the United States of America from 1923- 1929. Calvin Coolidge attended Amherst University and is where he joined Phi Gamma Delta.

 

 

 

 

 

Jack Nicklaus graduated from The Ohio State University as a Fiji in 1961. Since this time he has won a total of 18 PGA championships and is quoted as saying “My Fiji experience opened the door for me to meet people with diverse interests whom I otherwise might not have had the opportunity to know…I got my education at Ohio State, but it was through Phi Gamma Delta that I really learned how to be a friend and appreciate people from all walks of life.”

 

 

Johnny Carson was the host of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson for more than 30 years. He is also a member of the Television Academy Hall of Fame. He attended Columbia University where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta.
