March 18, 2019

8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

PRB Smith Seminar Room

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and BioScience Writers will be hosting a fellowship writing workshop focused on the fundamentals of crafting a compelling, competitive fellowship application.

Participants will learn:

  • Preliminary Steps to Writing a Proposal (i.e. creating a timeline for deliverables)
  • Steps to Design Clear Scientific Aims and Hypotheses
  • Writing a Compelling Training Plan, and more!

This workshop will include hands-on writing exercises and direct feedback from BioScience Writers and your peers. Because of the hands-on nature of this workshop, participants will need to come prepared with a draft of their specific aims in order to use the skills learned to modify their fellowship application throughout the workshop.

Although core content will focus on NIH award mechanisms, writing exercises and advice will be applicable to those targeting NSF and other fellowship applications as well.

Limited seating is available. RSVP here

Attending this event will count towards the Postdoctoral Professional Development certificate program.
