Dr. Niranjani Deshpande, disciple of Guru Jhelum Paranjape is an accomplished Odissi exponent alongside a flourishing career in research and development in the field of chemical engineering. Trained in Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra style of Odissi dance, Niranjani has performed in numerous prestigious festivals worldwide. As part of her Guru’s dance school Smitalay, she has traveled with the productions of dance ballets such as Lilavati, Uma and Narmada, among others. Niranjani has also been fortunate enough to receive blessings and direct guidance of Guruji in summer workshops in Srjan. She has also received basic training in Hindustani Classical vocal music. With her innate sense of rhythm and music, she continues spreading her love of Indian classical art forms in any way possible.
