About Me

Hello! My name is Anna Nash, and I am a fourth-year Evolution and Ecology major at The Ohio State University. I am from Gahanna, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, and attended Bishop Hartley High School. While in high school, I participated in women’s lacrosse, drama club, creative writing club, and “House leadership” (Student Council).

In 9th grade, I began to volunteer for a local organization called Dreams on Horseback in Blacklick, Ohio. Dreams on Horseback’s mission is to provide therapeutic riding lessons and other services to individuals with special needs, learning challenges, and/or other obstacles. I volunteered in their special needs riding lessons weekly for four years and was employed as an assistant supervisor in their summer camp for traditional students for three summers. Dreams on Horseback ignited a passion within me for working with animal-assisted therapy, teaching, finding ways to benefit those with special needs, and acknowledging sources of ableism in the community.

Now at Ohio State as an Eminence Fellow, I am excited to pursue a pre-veterinary medicine track with hopes of working with either equines or large animals. I am a member of pre-vet club and ride for Ohio State’s Western Equestrian Team.
