Michael Meckler

Welcome to the academic pages of Michael Meckler, Permanent Fellow in the Center for Epigraphical and Palaeographical Studies at The Ohio State University.

My research interests are in Roman and medieval European history, classical and medieval Latin literature, Celtic studies and the classical tradition. My current major research project concerns the assumptions made by dog breeders in the 19th century about the historical antecedents of their breeds, and I have been giving a related lecture on “Dog Breeds in Classical Antiquity” at universities across the country.

I occasionally maintain a personal blog at MichaelMeckler.com, and my Twitter account is @MichaelMeckler.
