CME Webcast Teaches on Antibiotic Stewardship

OSUWexnerbloglogo2014 CME Webcast Teaches on Antibiotic Stewardship. It seems that as fast as we invent new antibiotics, the bacteria are even faster at developing resistance to those antibiotics. And although we need new antibiotics, we also need to be more prudent in how we use the antibiotics that we already have, in order to minimize development of bacterial resistance. On this CME webcast, we’re going to hear about how hospitals can slow the development of bacterial antibiotic resistance and thus keep patients safer and keep their infections more treatable. Joining on moderator in the studio is Professor of Internal Medicine and the Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at The Ohio State University, Dr. Kurt Stevenson.

Learn About New Drugs for Lipid Management

OSUWexnerbloglogo2014 Learn About New Drugs for Lipid Management. Managing hyperlipidemia used to be so easy. If a patient’s total cholesterol was greater than 200, then we started them on lovastatin to reduce it. But things are a lot more complicated now. There isn’t a single cholesterol target for all patients and we have gone way beyond statins as the only game in town for cholesterol management. On this CME webcast, we’re going to update you on the newest developments in lipid management. What tests to order, who to treat and which drugs to use. Joining our moderator in the studio is cardiologist and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, Dr. John Larry and pharmacist and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy, Melissa Snider.
