Loyola Marymount position

Adjunct Faculty in Chinese
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) is seeking part-time faculty to teach language classes (up to eight credit hours per semester) in Chinese.

LMU part-time faculty are expected to instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course competencies and proactively support all facets of the learning environment consistent with the university’s mission; provide education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the job market; encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning and ethics as well as personal and professional development.

Job Responsibilities:

Delivers learning-centered instruction
Prepares for courses as needed
Develops course syllabus and holds regular office hours as stipulated in the faculty standards
Mentors students in their academic and professional careers
Attends department or language section meetings as requested

Required Education:

M.A. in languages, literature or linguistics is required; PhD preferred; at least one year teaching experience at the university level.
