About Me

Hello, my name is Pablo Manon Mateos and I am a fourth-year studying philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE) as well as history.  I am an out-of-state student from Springdale, Arkansas, though I’m originally from Mexico City.  I moved to the United States when I was 8 years old and became a citizen in late 2017. My interest in politics comes from the vastly different experiences I had living under the Mexican and American government systems.  Although the last couple of years have left many people with a lack of faith in the American government, I am still inspired that we live in a country with a system that allows criticism and corrections when things go in counterproductive directions.  I am excited to get the first-hand experience in as many facets of our government system and the political system throughout my time at Ohio State.  I am a member of the nationally recognized OSU mock trial team, the prestigious Buckeye Leadership Fellows, as well as SPHINX senior honorary.  I’ve also been working as the coach for the Dublin Jerome high school mock trial team, successfully coaching both of my teams all the way to the state competition.
