Sullivant's Travels

No one can ever say that the College of Arts and Sciences cannot throw a proper party – 1,200 people attended Saturday’s grand opening of Sullivant Hall! I do not believe that even one of them was in any way disappointed; the day’s events were remarkable proof that the arts are flourishing at Ohio State. This incredible event also made it clear that the entire institution – and the Columbus community – is behind this ambitious, visionary initiative to create a new Arts District that will become a national destination for the arts. Although the party is over, the building is open, the arts are in bloom, take a look.

Nor can it be said that we do not know how to have a pre-celebration, celebration. We held the academic year’s first Donuts with the Dean in front of Sullivant Hall last Friday; the gorgeousness of the day, the enthusiasm of our students, the deliciousness of the donuts and – location, location, location – made it perhaps the best one ever.

Now, we must walk it off. Put on your red laces, form a team at yp4h.osu.edu, join me and Hit the Road with the Buckeyes as we walk the distance to Ohio State’s away football games. Prizes are involved!

Finally, I would like to remind all of you to complete your health assessment by September 30 – just six short days away – if you have not already done so. You will be glad that you did.
