What: This is a quiz that will help you navigate Thomas Reuters Web of Science – one of the best research platforms that scientists, professors and engineers use to find journal articles in all fields of science and engineering.

Where: Carmen Activities – Quizzes

Why: To practice searching for environmental science journal articles. Web of Science is an excellent resource for students, like you, as you search for articles and topics to use for your project.  Use Web of Science in the coming weeks to find and save journal articles that you can use for your class project. Remember, the project is worth 25% of your final grade so it would be a good idea to get started on this assignment as soon as possible.

Directions: Use the Web of Science database to find an article.  Click on the hyperlink (or copy and paste the link in your browser) and find the one article that Susan Solomon and Donald J. Wuebbles published together in 1986 (*hints:  remember to search using Last Name followed by first and middle initials; for example: Wuebbles DJ.  also remember to select “Author” in the pull-down menu). After finding the article, click on the “Find It” tab to view the full article.  Download the full text PDF of the article to your computer, open the PDF and use it to answer the quiz’s ten questions.

Note: If you are completing this assignment off-campus, you will need to follow directions for the OSU Library’s Off-Campus Sing-in.
