Dr. Ibaraki teaches three courses in the School of Earth Sciences.

EARTHSCI 3411 – Water Security for the 21st Century, 3 credit hours, Spring semester

This course introduces hydrological cycle, water resources, and issues caused by declining quality and quantity of water resources from both environmental and societal impacts.

EARTHSCI 5203 – Geo-Environment and Human Health, 3 credit hours, Spring semester

This course introduces the processes of infectious disease transmit and issues related to human health affected by geological environments. Case studies are included in the class which help student better understand how geo-environment is important to human health.

EARTHSCI 5651 – Hydrogeology, 4 credit hours, Autumn semester

This course covers basic knowledge of groundwater movement and storage, relation of groundwater flow with geologic structure, management of contaminated groundwater, and water resources. The class includes laboratory and computer demonstrations.

Study Abroad

Dr. Ibaraki also conducts a study abroad program in Japan (Public Health 3189.03). This program focuses on public health, environmental, sociological, and cultural issues with an emphasis on Japanese perspectives.
