The following information was sent out in an email on 2/20/17, and has been added to the events calendar. We will have a second year meeting where we will talk about translating your IA experience on your resume and in interviews as well as talking about your posters!


 What Does the Refugee and Immigrant Experience Really Look Like?
Monday, February 20, 5:30-6:30pm, Hagerty Hall 062
Staff from the Columbus Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS) will join IA to talk about what the process looks like for immigrants and refugees, discuss what unique challenges facing those new to the US, and talk about the settlement process and what services organizations like CRIS provide. With immigration policy front and center right now, this informal program seeks to shed light on the experience and answer any questions you may have. Jimmy Johns will be provided!
Islamophobia: Causes and Consequences, and How to Counter It in Daily Life (2 points)
Monday, February 20 7:30pm, Knowlton 250
This program will be a collaboration between the OSU student organization, Crosswalk Outreach to the Homeless and Dr. Stephanie Moulton, of the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. One of Crosswalk Outreach’s goals is to combat the stigmatization of people who are homeless by educating others and inviting them to learn with the club. This program will educate attendees about the bigger picture of poverty and homelessness, as well as introduce students to opportunities involving Crosswalk Outreach.
Foreign Language Careers Meet and Greet

Looking for career opportunities where you can use your foreign language skills, along with any other majors and minors that you may have? Please join us at this special meet and greet to connect with recruiters that are looking for qualified foreign language students, and begin your exciting global career! Students and alumni are welcome. Please dress in business casual, bring your resume, and be ready to network! No registration is required.
Service Event: Coloring Kits for Kids (2 points)

Please join us as we put together coloring and activity kits to be delivered to kids at Nationwide Children’s Hospital!
Night at the Museum: Ohio History Center (2 points)
Saturday, February 25, 7:00-10:00pm
Here’s your chance to experience the Ohio History Center museum after hours and see whether or not our exhibits really do come to life!  Tickets will be $5.  We will meet in Smith-Steeb at 7pm to take a charter bus up to the Ohio History Center.  If you have any questions, please contact Doug (urbancsik.1@osu.edu). Honors & Scholars ALL SKATE (1 point)
Wednesday, March 1, 8:00-11:00 pm, Chiller Ice Haus
Join the Honors and Scholars Programming Board on March 1st for a night full of skating, food, and fun!Buses will loop from campus with stops at Mid-Towers, Union, and Archer to take students downtown to the Chiller Ice Haus for free ice skating and pizza. Buses will start at 8PM and the last bus will leave for campus at 11PM. We look forward to seeing you all!
Arab Night (2 point)
Friday, March 3, 8:00, Ohio Union Performance Hall
Hosted by the Arab Student Union (ASU) Arab Night is a night of performances, including traditional dances, live music, poetry, a flag show, a fashion show and much more. The main goal for this event is to showcase the diversity of the Arab world and familiarize the audience with the Arab culture, through artistic and creative performances. Everyone is welcome to attend and it is free admission.
Columbus Symphony: Russian Winter Festival II (2 points)
Friday, March 3, 6:30-10:30pm, Meet at Ohio Union
The College of Arts and Sciences is sponsoring this Night at the Columbus Symphony Orchestra onFriday, March 3.  The night includes a pre-concert reception at the Urban Arts Space, followed by the Symphony performance of the Russian Winter Festival II.  Bus transportation, ticket, light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be provided free of charge.  Meet the bus at the Ohio Union bus turnaround at 6:30pm.  You will return to campus around 10:00pm.  RSVP Here.
