IA/PSL Cookout

Description: Both the IA and PSL (Politics, Society, and Law) scholars programs will be gathering to celebrate the beginning of the year with a big cookout behind the Kuhn House. This event will focus on developing community by meeting with your fellow IA Scholars and getting to know people in both the first and second year cohorts.
IA and Columbus Council on World Affairs Event – China’s Growth: Economic Opportunity of Risk
Date: Thursday, September 3rd
Time: 11:30-1:30PM
Location: WOSU@COSI
Description: China’s enormous economy and expanding middle class have opened new opportunities for American businesses. Join us as Roger Bird, Abbott Nutrition’s Senior Vice President and President, U.S. Nutrition, discusses the opportunities and risks that a growing China brings for US companies. Lunch is provided as part of the event and FORMAL DRESS is required.

**RSVP is required for this event as the program covers the cost of each seat and the first 14 students who reply to this email will get spots**
IA Career Series: How can IA Help my Career?
Date: Wednesday, September 16th
Time: 5:30PM-6:30PM
Location: Orton Hall 110
Description: Since the IA Scholars program has over 35 different majors represented among its students, there are a wide variety of career and professional interests represented in the program. A panel of second and third year IA Scholars will share their stories on how the IA program has both opened their eyes to the career opportunities in the field and  enhanced their career choices regardless of their international connection. Snacks will be provided.

Meet the Department of History Event
Date: Tuesday, September 22nd
Time: 6:00-8:00PM
Location: Kuhn House
Description: Faculty, staff, and student organizations representing the Department of History will be at the Kuhn House to introduce students to various research, service, and leadership opportunities offered through the department. Students interested in a major/minor, taking GE courses, or a career involving history should attend as faculty from all areas will be presenting. This event is meant to be casual and interactive, but also informative, as the Department will have research, service, and internship opportunities available. Food and drink will be provided by the IA Scholars program.
