FAMILY FINANCIAL PLANNING
COLLEGE OF HUMAN SCIENCES
TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY

POSITION Assistant or Associate Professor in Family Financial Planning, Tenure Track,
Nine-months academic appointment with possible summer teaching appointment.

EFFECTIVE Fall Semester: August 1998

DEADLINE To be announced.

REQUIRED Minimum: Earned doctorate in Family Economics, Consumer Economics, Finance,
CFP or ChFC certified and one to three years professional experience in financial
planning/services preferred. Evidence of teaching effectiveness (both undergraduate and
graduate levels); curriculum planning and program development; scholarly competence and
research potential; written and verbal communication skills; computer literacy; and importance
of collegiality. Active membership in relevant organizations and a teaching portfolio is
required. The successful candidate must have a proven background as an open thinker,
receptive to and supportive of the ideas, processes, and outcomes in the financial planning
profession.

SALARY AND RANK Commensurate with qualifications.

DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION The Department of Merchandising, Environmental
Design and Consumer Economics offers an undergraduate major in family financial planning,
an M.S. in family financial planning and a Ph.D. in Consumer Economics and Environmental
Design. Both the B.S. and M.S. are registered programs with the Certified Financial Planner
