Welcome

I am Abhishek Gupta, an assistant professor at Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University. I completed my Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering (2014), MS in Applied Mathematics (2012), and MS in Aerospace Engineering (2011), all from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Before coming to UIUC in 2009, I completed my undergraduate in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India (2005-09). You can download my CV from this link.

I work on theoretical problems in stochastic control theory, game theory, optimization and information theory, and apply the insights to secure cyberphysical systems and develop market mechanisms for deep renewable integration.

The title of my PhD thesis is “Dynamic Sequential Decision Problems with Asymmetric Information: Some Existence Results”. The thesis is divided into two parts: The first part deals with deriving an algorithm for computation of Nash equilibrium in dynamic games with asymmetric information, and the second part deals with establishing the existence of team-optimal solutions in dynamic teams with asymmetric information.

Since my undergraduate years, I have been collecting useful links that are related to my interests and may be useful to a wider audience. Please see the collection of links here.

Note for prospective undergraduate and MS students: I have multiple honors thesis/MS thesis projects related to smart grid, cybersecurity, and machine learning. If you have taken mathematics courses in linear algebra, abstract algebra, basic real analysis, and/or optimization, contact me with your CV/resume and your interests, and we can discuss further. I will only consider serious requests for long-term honors thesis projects.
