Wrestling- Wrestling is a huge part of my life.  I started wrestling in the seventh grade and continued all the way through my senior year of high school.  I started to wrestle year round after my freshman year of high school.  Through wrestling, I have met many friends and have had many cool experiences.  I still have life long friends through wrestling, and I have even met a few of my friends on campus.  I have been to Fargo for freestyle nationals and many tournaments, but the one thing that I love about wrestling is it has taught me discipline.  I can honestly say that wrestling has molded me into a determined person that won’t rest until the task is done and done right.  Below is a picture of me after I won my league for wrestling senior year of high school.

Hunting- Hunting is one of my all-time favorite things.  It is something that teaches you patience.  I wasn’t able to get out as much as I would have liked to in high school, but now that I am in college I always am in the stand when I go home for break.  It isn’t about killing things, for me it is really about sitting outside, spending time with my dad and enjoying nature.  Hunting is one of the best stress relievers there is for me, and is very relaxing.  Below is a picture of my dad early one morning when I was about 14.

About Me

DSC_0214

Hello, my name is Justin Gibbs.  I grew up in a small area where everyone knows everyone, which is okay, but I love to learn, meet new people and experience new things.  I’m really looking forward to studying abroad during my time at Ohio State, and I hope to meet as many people as I can while I’m here.  I am always ready for a new adventure or something new to learn.

Some of my favorite things to do include hunting and fishing.  I love being outdoors and seeing the wildlife during the different seasons.  I’m pretty competitive and in high school I stayed active by wrestling year round and lifting.  I loved wrestling because it is all on you.  You get out what you put into it.  Through wrestling I have met and made a lot of friends.  One of my favorite experiences was when I was able to go to freestyle nationals to wrestle during the summer between my junior and senior year.  I met a lot of really cool and talented wrestlers while I was there and will never forget the experience.  I plan to continue to stay active and be outside  as much as possible throughout my life.

In the long run my main goal is to eventually find a job in my field of study and that interests me.
