About Me

Fly Fishing Just After Sunrise in my BackYard

Fly Fishing Just After Sunrise in my BackYard

I’m Zach Funk I was born and raised in small town coastal Florida. Therefore anything to do with water is a deep passion of mine. My favorite color is blue and I really enjoy the outdoors, beyond that I’m very simple minded. I strive to learn a little something every day from everything around me whether it’s an abstract thought or breakthrough discovery it all holds great value to me. I make it a point to not stress or worry about things that are out of my control and to take great care of the things that I can control. However, I’m not always perfect about standing by those two philosophies but I do the best that I can which eases my mind. Easing my mind is important to me but getting all the work that needs to be done out of the way in the best way that it can be done outweighs most everything in my life significantly, so don’t take me to be someone that is not a hard worker. i will dive wholeheartedly into all kinds of work from cleaning the boat and harvesting this seasons Royal Palms to the closing shift at J.Crew or a couple page paper. I greatly enjoy learning, I believe that knowledge is power and that the most worldly people are very knowledgeable. What I want more than anything is a legacy left behind me when I die that makes people think about expanding their views, I want to be regarded as a very worldly person and hope that I can influence people to be the same way. I want to be able to be dropped into any situation and know at least a little bit about what is happening as well as learn whole lot from it. I think this kind of lifestyle is the best way to be able to connect with total strangers off of first impressions and consequentially I really enjoy meeting and listening to new people. Everyone in the world brings a different opinion to the table and observation of each opinion I encounter helps to make my own opinions well rounded. When it comes to forming my own opinions and thoughts I’m very creative, sometimes to my own demise. With so much desire to fix the worlds problems there a number of different career paths that I plan to look into. As a creative mind, the Marketing field interests me in terms of having a really fun job of exploring abstract ways to appeal to people. As a person with many questions about why people are the way that they are, I’m intrigued by the Neurological Sciences and the influence of the human brain. As a person looking to mix Science with Business, I’d like to explore Patent Law and Entrepreneurship. Finally as a person who grew up in a small town I’m interested in Agricultural Business or large scale farming. With so many different roads ahead I’m extremely excited to see what doors I can open for myself or that open just by a stroke of luck. I feel that as an Ohio State student with the support of the Honors and Scholars Program, I have the world at my finger tips and have every tool that is necessary to attain any dream that I choose to pursue.
