GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (FOOD ENGINEERING) POSITION AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY (2018 Summer or Autumn)
Applications are invited for food engineering oriented graduate research associate (GRA) positions available at The Ohio State University. The positions will be available from Summer (or) Autumn 2018. More details about our laboratory can be found at go.osu.edu/foodsafetyeng
First student will conduct research on food safety aspects of a high pressure based ultra-shear technology for beverage processing. 2nd student will conduct research on functionality and nano-emulsion characteristics of resulting emulsion.
GRAs will work collaboratively as a part of multi-disciplinary team of university-industry team of researchers. In addition to conducting basic and applied food engineering research, GRAs can also contribute to food engineering teaching and industrial outreach activities.
The ideal candidate will have
(a) Degree(s) in Chemical / food/agricultural engineering. Excellent academic credentials & GRE scores.
(b) Hands-on process engineering experience in handling pilot plant scale equipment and conduct research. Conduct relevant food engineering, chemistry and microbiology instrumental analysis. Any previous research experience at undergraduate or graduate level would be plus.
(c) ability to work in multi-disciplinary research environment. Interface with academia and industry
