The SNAP/Food Stamp Challenge, hosted by The Ohio State University Food Fellows, offers participants a view of what life can be like for millions of Americans with low incomes who rely on food assistance on a daily basis.

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), formerly known as Food Stamps, offers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities (USDA).

Members of Congress, governors, state officials, journalists and other community leaders have taken the Challenge and have learned firsthand what it is like to try to make ends meet on the average food stamp benefit.
