The SNAP Challenge, hosted by The Ohio State University Food Fellows, offers participants a view of what life can be like for millions of Americans who rely on food assistance on a daily basis. Participants will simulate what it is like to live on a food stamp budget (~$4.50/day) for food for 1 week. The challenge will take place from

March 2-9, 2015.

Food Budget:
$4.50/day or $31.50/week (for students not on OSU dining plans)
4 blocks/day or 28 blocks/week (for students on OSU dining plan)

Participants will document their experiences through daily reflections via Twitter, Facebook, and/or a personal blog. Students with an OSU dining plan with blocks, if you have remaining blocks at the end of the SNAP Challenge, we encourage participants to purchase food items to donate to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.

At the end of the challenge, all participants will be invited to a post-SNAP Challenge gathering!

If you would like to participate in this experience, register in the link above. If there are any questions, contact Food Fellows at thefoodfellows@gmail.com. Thank you!
