Kamala Sweeney to serve on Ohio State Junior Fair Board

Kamala Sweeney of Canal Winchester was one of two youth recently recognized at the Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards Banquet to become a member on the Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board.

Kamala Sweeney, 19, is a ten-year 4-H member from Canal Winchester in Fairfield County. She is the daughter of Jeff and Loretta Sweeney. She is active in poultry and healthy living projects and currently attends The Ohio State University majoring in Agricultural Communications.

Kamala Sweeney will serve two years on the State Junior Fair Board. The State Junior Fair Board is comprised of representatives from several different youth organizations in Ohio. State Junior Fair Board members are expected to help strengthen and coordinate junior fair activities during the Ohio State Fair.

The Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards are hosted annually by the Ohio 4-H Foundation at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus.

Ohio 4-H is the youth development program of Ohio State University Extension, part of the Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. More than 156,000 young Ohioans participate in 4-H clubs, groups and special interest programs.
