UPDATED CLERMONT COUNTY HOG RULES – 2019

All market hogs must come to the fairgrounds for tag-in the second Saturday in May. Due to the amount of lost tags last year, we will be tagging both ears of every hog. One will be a Federal ID tag and one will be a Junior Fair Board tag. If a hog loses a tag after tag-in a consultant must be notified while there is still a hole in the ear so it can be re-tagged. Bringing hogs to the fairgrounds gives us the opportunity to continue the Rate of Gain competition. There will again be awards for the Barrow and Gilt that have the highest percentage of daily weight gain from the tag-in date to the weigh-in date at fair. Rate of Gain will be optional. Hogs are not required to be weighed at the tag in date.

Effective 2019, ALL hogs coming to the fairgrounds for tag-in will be receiving the swine influenza nasal spray vaccination from our fair vet, Jason Patchell or one of his staff members along with a health check. There is a $2.00 fee per hog for the nasal spray. If a hog has already received the vaccination it will receive it again. There is no harm in re-administering this spray. You can find more information on this vaccination at by clicking here.
