About Me

Hi, I’m Mark Drozd. I’m from Broadview Heights, Ohio (a suburb south of Cleveland) and graduated from Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland. I am currently a fourth year Eminence Fellow and Stamps Foundation Scholar at The Ohio State University.  Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences, I am a dual degree studying Economics (with Honors and plans to write and defend a thesis) and Mathematics (Financial Track).

In addition to my studies, I am well acquainted to Arps Hall (home to the Ohio State Economics Department) through my two jobs on campus: tutor and research assistant. As an employee of the Economics Learning Center, I have not only been able to help students grasp economic concepts, but I have solidified my own understanding of fundamental economic ideas and theories. As a research assistant, I have the unique opportunity to apply lessons from the classroom. Utilizing the statistical software STATA, I employ various econometric techniques to further our research project.

Furthermore, I remain busy outside of the classroom. I have served on the executive board of the Ukrainian Society at OSU as vice president and president for the past two years, and will continue to serve in a leadership capacity as the vice president for the final year. I am volunteer in the Student Wellness Center (located in the RPAC) as Scarlet and Gray Financial Coach. Through this position, I conduct one-on-one appointments with students interested in learning about financial wellness and its impacts on our overall well-being. Finally, I am a member of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta, where I have held various leadership roles, as well as a member of the Class of 2020’s service project: Enlighten.

In October of 2018, I was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. In April 2019, I was tapped onto Ohio State’s Homecoming Court.
