Career

As of now, with a major in microbiology and a minor in public health:epidemiology, I am pursuing a career in research with possible clinical experience. In my molecular genetics research class, I learned about the MD/PhD program, where one goes to year 1 and 2 of medical school, then attends grad school for four years to earn a PhD, and then returns to do year 3 and 4 of medical school. While this path is longer and the transition between grad school and year 3 of medical school would be rough, this journey would allow me to do research in the future and work in the medical field. I am still deciding my path, but I do know that I want to work with infectious diseases and/or the mutations in cystic fibrosis.

Below is a link to my current resume displaying my achievements first semester of freshman year in college to the end of sophomore year. I am hoping to gain experience for my major this summer and participate in research next fall.

Final Paper BioStatistics

I helped to design a cross-sectional survey analyzing factors affecting COVID-19 infection among Ohio State students. Above is a link to the paper. I was able to work with R Studio to analyze the data from our Qualtrics survey. Learning how to use the program will help my future public health work in epidemiology.
