About

Hi, I’m Tan and I’m assistant director of Marketing and Communications for the Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures.

I’ll be using this space to post select pieces I’ve produced as part of my position here at the CLLC. I hope it will help give people an idea of what’s possible. I’m looking forward to working on many different kinds of projects and sharing them with you.

I have two decades of experience in design, art direction, and event production from New York and Washington, DC. My lucky first break in New York was as an art director at JWT (Advertising).

I also used to be the food truck commander of Rebel Heroes. We were the number one food truck in the DC area according to a Washington Post survey, beating out many others. Here’s a little profile of me in The Washington Post . We were also featured on the Food Network show, Eat Street.

I’ve lived abroad in Tokyo, Japan as well as Stockholm, Sweden and has travelled extensively internationally. I majored in International Affairs and minored in Japanese and Women’s Studies at The George Washington University (DC) and spent my junior year abroad at Sophia University as part of the Georgetown University Exchange program.
