Open Enrollment Reminder

Open Enrollment Updates to Include Compensation Tiers, Plan Changes

Communications about Open Enrollment will continue on September 29 with a follow-up email to faculty and staff about specific plan changes, including tiered contributions. Starting January 1, 2016, medical plan contributions for full-time regular and term faculty and staff (75-100 percent FTE) will be based on the individual’s pay, which will include base pay as of Oct. 1, 2015, plus additional earnings that were paid from October 1, 2014, to September 30, 2015. Medical plan contributions for part-time (74 or less percent FTE) and temporary employees will not be determined by compensation.

Full-time faculty and staff will receive a letter at their home addresses by Oct. 16 identifying their compensation tier. Once an individual’s compensation tier has been established, it will remain the same for the entire 2016 plan year. When Open Enrollment begins Oct. 19, 2015, full-time faculty and staff logging into Employee Self Service to review benefit elections or make changes will see the appropriate medical contributions based on each individual’s compensation tier.

Faculty and staff should review the Open Enrollment website for detailed information.
Open Enrollment is coming October 19-30.
Individuals will receive a letter by October 16 informing them of their compensation tier after this information has been established in the HR system.
