Ohio State Graduate & Professional School Fair

The Graduate and Professional School Fair welcomes students who are interested in pursuing their education further, connect with various schools and programs and learn more about the application and admissions process, such as:

  • What’s involved in applying?
  • What undergraduate courses and programs can help you prepare?
  • What programs are available at the different schools?

The fair hosts Graduate Schools from across the country and allows you to explore your options, gather information, and make connections with admission officers. The fair also gives you access to Grad School experts, who can provide invaluable tips and advice about the Graduate School admission process.

Pre-registration and professional dress are not required.

Interested in learning more about graduate & professional school before the fair? Register for the Grad School 101 workshop held virtually on Thursday, February 23. Participants will learn tips and tricks for navigating the grad school application process.

Do You Want to be a Published Author?

The Journal of Undergraduate Research at Ohio StateThe Journal of Undergraduate Research at Ohio State (JUROS) is currently looking to publish quality research done by undergraduate students. If your research is selected, you will have a professional citation to your name and receive public recognition for your research!

Submissions must fall under one of the following categories:

  • Manuscripts (6-35 pages)
  • Feature articles (<6 pages)
  • Images and descriptions of creative projects
  • Research theses (<35 pages)
  • Research abstracts

ASC Life Beyond Degree: Biochemistry/Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with the Center for Career and Professional Success are hosting, Life Beyond Degree: Biochem/Chem; an interactive presentation about networking best practices followed with a networking mix and mingle event with alumni! You will learn best practices on how to create your own elevator pitch, use social media platforms to network with alumni and employers, utilizing LinkedIn, Alumnifire, and more!

Meet and network with alumni in speed networking sessions and implement the strategies learned in the workshop for part two of the event; an opportunity to practice what you learned and connect with alumni from your degree! “Speed dating” rounds will provide you with a great opportunity to chat one on one or in a small group with alumni to gather how they transformed their degree into a career. We encouraged you to attend both sessions but it is not a requirement. Free food and beverages!

Do you know what you are going to do after you obtain your degree at The Ohio State University?  Have you thought about going to Grad school, or to a professional school?  Learn more about both options at the Expo on September 14th from 12-3 at the Ohio Union!

Admission is free, and you get to begin to look at planning your future and your career.  Come ready to ask questions to the grad schools present, including representatives from various grad schools withing the University, as well as Universities abroad and across the nation.  You can find a complete, searchable list of the grad schools represented here.

  • Chemistry: currently Sophomore/Junior Standing – cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Chemical Engineering: Sophomore/Junior Standing – cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Microbiology: Sophomore/Junior Standing – cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher

Open House Invite OSU 2016

OSU Graduate and Professional School Fair

The sixth annual OSU Graduate and Professional School Fair will be held on Thursday, November 5 from 4:30 – 6:00 PM in the Ohio Union Great Hall Meeting Rooms 1 & 2.

Admission representatives from more than twenty OSU programs, pre-law and pre-health advisors, and arts and sciences career counselors will be available to answer questions.  This is a great opportunity for students who are new to OSU to begin to think about coursework, extracurricular activities, and co-curricular opportunities that will help them to prepare for graduate or professional school admissions.  It is also a good opportunity for students who are approaching graduation to learn what they need to do in order to apply to an OSU program.

This Fair is an option for Student Success Series credit.

Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.
