Indianapolis Teaching Fellows

Indianapolis Teaching Fellows trains recent college grads to become exceptional, certified teachers in Indianapolis. After successful completion of summer training, Fellows begin teaching in the 2019-2020 school year, earning a full salary and benefits while receiving direct coaching, certification coursework, and support.

Why Indianapolis? Historically, high-need students in Indianapolis have not had equal access to an education that adequately prepares them for college and career. Fellows don’t just teach, they embrace a wider movement. “Education reform is a priority of state and local government. There’s an environment conducive to new ideas and open to new talent, with lots of brilliant minds coming together to solve educational equity problems,” said Alumni Brent Freeman, now Special Education Director of Indianapolis Public Schools.

In addition, with more than 30 district and charter school partners in greater Indianapolis, Fellows have unique flexibility to find a school that fits their skills and interests.
