Nicaragua Mobile Clinic

Application Deadline: February 13th

“MEDLIFE is a non-profit international student organization committed to helping underprivileged communities achieve greater freedom from the constraints of poverty by providing medicine, education, and development to low-income families everywhere. This spring break they are organizing a mobile clinic to Managua, Nicaragua from March 11th – 19th for interested Ohio State student within any major. During this trip, students will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of an incredible Spanish speaking country, work with local health care professionals to provide health care to remote communities surrounding the city, help combat public health issues such as STDs and parasites, as well as complete a development project to improve the lives of the communities the clinic will be working in. This is a great opportunity for pre-health students of all kinds that would like to learn about health care in a developing country.

All MEDLIFE staff and patients speak primarily if not entirely in Spanish, so this is a great way to improve language skills as well as exploring the local culture. If you have any questions about the trip or are looking to apply, please feel free to contact their brigade coordinator Sydney Sillart, at sillart.1@osu.edu
