Dr. Roberts’ research interests include biomedical research in nutrition, phytochemicals (namely ellagitannins), and cancer prevention. She has previously focused on the implementation of a black raspberry food product in men undergoing an elective prostatectomy for curative treatment of their prostate cancer and elucidation of intervention diets studying polyphenols. With her current research interests, Dr. Roberts is working on applying this model to patients at high risk for colon cancer. She is actively working on establishing a research program focusing on the host-pathogen interactions through the analysis of the colonic microbiome and the role of nutrition in this interaction.
