Career Services: Programming

Programming is working to expand upon the career resources provided for student-athletes.  The Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Career Management, in collaboration with SASSO, has found that there is a need for more internal career resources for student-athletes.  One aspect of this project is creating short videos—for example, How to Dress Business Casual and Business Professional— to refer to when engaging in career-related events.  In addition to videos, Career Services seeks to provide student-athletes to ability to access job postings, easily share résumés, and stay connected with Varsity O mentors.  To make videos, posters, and job opportunities easily-accessible, Career Services is developing the Handshake App that will provide student-athletes with a library of career resources.  The Handshake App will enable students to view the videos and new job postings, to share their résumés, and to network with others at The Ohio State University.  The goals of this group are to assist student-athletes as they seek to explore their career interests and to network with other Buckeyes.  Career Services desires to shine light on the importance of seeking a career.  This group will create the videos that are to be shared with student-athletes and will be of assistance in creating the Handshake App. Interns involved in this project include Alex Bayne-SASSO, Lamar Bruton-Student Life, John Holman-Student Life, Michelle Burns-Life Sports, Kevin Duffy-Schottenstein and Zach Mason-Coaching.
