As the world’s population grows, so does the demand for biobased food, products, and energy. Advanced biobased systems are needed to meet these demands. To ensure their optimization and cost effectiveness, these systems require in-depth analyses of the technological, material, and energy inputs and outputs. The Biobased Systems Analysis Lab (BSAL) uses biosystems engineering concepts and analyses to improve the sustainable production of food, fiber and fuel.
