Research Experience:
January to July 2014 – Intern at Valparaiso University College of Engineering

  • Designed, manufactured, assembled, and tested a heat transfer apparatus to measure the convection coefficient of water in a stainless steal crucible heated from below

Summer 2013 – Intern at Valparaiso University College of Engineering

  • Performed an economic analysis of a solar thermal electrolytic magnesium production facility.
  • Quantified Fe +2, Fe +3, and total iron concentrations in sulfuric acid in an attempt to elucidate the Magnetite to Hydrogen and Hematite reaction mechanism.
