Below are the courses that are included in the Buckeye Generation Learning Community program for Fall 2019. These have not been confirmed and are subject to change.
Everyone is enrolled for the following 3 classes
Introduction to Physical Anthropology (Anthropology 2200 – 4 credits) M/W 12:45pm-2:05pm & F from 12:45pm-1:40pm, OR M/W2:20pm-3:40pm & F 3:05pm-4:00pm, OR M/W 3:55pm-5:15pm & F 4:15pm-5:10pm.
You will only be in one section of this course, M/W 12:45pm-2:05pm & F from 12:45pm-1:40pm, OR M/W2:20pm-3:40pm & F 3:05pm-4:00pm, OR M/W 3:55pm-5:15pm & F 4:15pm-5:10pm.
There are 120 students in the learning community and 40 will be scheduled into each section.
A scientific examination of humans as a biological and cultural organism based on primate evolution from living and fossil evidence; evolutionary theory and population adaptability. This course includes laboratory activities
Fulfills the General Education Natural Science and Social Science & Diversity Global Studies requirements.
Introduction to Psychology (Psych 1100 – 3 credits) M/W 11:10am-12:30pm
A prerequisite to advanced courses; a broad survey of psychological science. Application of the scientific method to the empirical study of behavior with emphasis on individual and cultural differences.
Fulfills the General Education Social Science Individuals & Groups and Diversity Social Diversity in the U.S. course requirements.
University Survey (EXP 1100.01 – 1 credit) W 9:10am-10:05am OR W 2:20pm-3:15pm
You will only be in one section of this course, 9:10am-10:05am or 2:20pm-3:15pm.
There are 120 students in the learning community and 60 students will be scheduled into each section
Introduction to the process of decision making and majors at Ohio State; introduction to university community; strategies for successful transition to and participation in that community; university resources and procedures.
Required course for all first-year students.
