The Ohio State University and the OSU Eastern Agriculture Research Station (EARS) in Belle Valley will be offering a three day beef cattle artificial insemination (A.I.) school on April 30, May 1, and 2nd. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m. each day at EARS.
Producers will learn the basics of utilizing Expected Progeny Difference (EPD’s), techniques for artificial insemination, semen handling, reproductive anatomy & physiology and estrous synchronization. On the third day the class will practice artificial insemination on beef cattle.
The cost of the class is $100 which covers all materials and lunch. This class fills very quickly. Registration is required and the class size is limited to 20 participants. The class is filled on a first come first serve basis with participants notified once we receive registration.
