Terra’s Kitchen

I LOVE Terra’s Kitchen!! It had a really neat shipping container that was like a mini cooler/dresser. You unpack everything, unpeel the shipping label to reveal another label underneath, and put it out the next morning. It was picked up and shipped back to the company! All the containers containing the food are #1 plastics, so they are completely recyclable. The packing also ensured that the ingredients arrived undamaged. The other remarkable thing about the ingredients was the large portion sizes of the meat. Now the recipes… the first recipe we tried was the chicken pineapple rice bowl. Both the chicken and rice were grilled, and it made an amazing meal. We managed to get four portions out of this recipe. The rest of the recipes yielded three recipes. The second recipe was the turkey spinach meatballs. This recipe was just meatballs in sauce – I added noodles to this meal, and it was good. The third recipe was the grilled chicken and avocado goat cheese tacos. I thought these were good, but not amazing. The lime in the avocado/goat cheese mixture was a little overpowering. The final recipe I struggled with – the glazed chicken thighs with quinoa. I followed the recipe exactly, but there was still a lot of water in the quinoa after cooking. It was edible, but a little crunchy. The combination of flavors in the final product was good, but Andrew didn’t like them. He is not a fan of pecans and goat cheese crumbles that were really what was needed to bring the dish together. I was hoping this dish would eliminate my fear of quinoa, but alas, I have to keep trying. Overall, I loved the experience with Terra’s Kitchen and I will definitely order from them again (as long as one of the ingredients is NOT quinoa).
