MAN-MADE DISASTERS

This unit includes the handling of potential emergencies on rides, in activities and in buildings on your operation. Once again, staff training is critical. Make sure they know what to look for and how to handle each situation.

Having a first aid kit is a safety measure. Training your staff in the proper use of the kit is a way to be prepared for emergencies. It is not enough to have one first aid kit located at the entrance of the main office. Safety checklists should be developed and part of the safety plan before getting to this unit of emergency preparedness.

Your staff also need to have some form of communication available. This could be through two-way radios, an intercom system or through the use of their cell phones. Use whatever works best for your operation.
