Ohio Corn and Wheat’s Collegiate Policy Academy
Each year Ohio Corn & Wheat offers an Collegiate Policy Academy to college student that have an interest in public policy.

As a CPA participant, you will be exposed to issues facing agriculture today. Throughout this Academy you will attend functions representing Ohio Corn & Wheat, meet influencers from across the state and nation and make contacts with professionals in the industry. In addition to these activities, students accepted into the Academy will attend the Washington D.C. Fly-In. This is an all-expense paid mission to Washington D.C. This mission gives students the opportunity to attend meetings focusing on: international trade, market development, ethanol, and so much more.

Oregon State University – Masters and/or PhD Assistantships
If you or someone you know is considering graduate school, we would like to extend the invitation to consider the exciting assistantship opportunities at Oregon State University! The Department of Agricultural Education and Agricultural Sciences is currently seeking qualified candidates for Masters and/or Ph.D. level assistantships.  These positions will focus on Agricultural Education, Agricultural Leadership, and Agricultural Sciences within the College of Agricultural Sciences.  Assistantships include a full tuition waiver, annual stipend, and opportunities to teach at the college level while earning a Master’s or Ph.D.  Prior teaching ee considered. Now Open – College Scholarship Application for the 2020-2021 academic year – Priority Deadline: February 15, 2020
All students in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences are encouraged to fill out the College Scholarship Application for the 2020-21 academic year.

You will only need to fill out one application to be eligible for scholarships from the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, School of Environment and Natural Resources, and ATI/Wooster. The priority deadline for completing the application is February 15, 2020.

The simple on-line form requires you to write a short 300 word essay, list of present and previous work experience, involvement in extracurricular activities, provide details about involvement in groups. Students in the School of Environment and Natural Resources will only need to complete this application for 2020-21 as the supplemental questions are within this application. Applicants who have participated in 4-H regardless of University/College, Campus, or major are to complete this application and the additional supplemental questions when you check “Yes” on the involvement in 4-H.

FAFSA Now Available for Next Year – Start Filling Out Now!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the University Special Scholarships Application and the CFAES Scholarship Application for the 2020-2021 academic year are now available.
What you need to do now:

  • File the FAFSA today at fafsa.gov or on the myStudentAid app. The 2020-2021 FAFSA requires income information from your 2018 tax returns. Learn more at fafsa.gov
  • Follow the FAFSA prompts and use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to directly import tax return information into the FAFSA.
  • Complete the University Special Scholarships Application. For more information visit sfa.osu.edu/current-student/about-aid/types-of-aid/scholarships
  • Complete the CFAES Scholarship Application. For more information visit cfaes.osu.edu/scholarships

Make it a priority. The 2020-2021 Ohio State priority date for the FAFSA and the University Special Scholarships Application is February 1, 2020. The CFAES Scholarship Application priority date is February 15, 2020.

NCGA, BASF Accepting Applications for 2019 Scholarships
The National Corn Growers Association is again offering its William C. Berg Academic Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship thanks to the sponsorship of BASF Corporation.

Five $1,500 scholarships are available to undergraduate college students. The five scholarship winners will be invited to visit and tour a BASF facility in 2020 and meet with key staff. Dates and details of the trip are still being developed. BASF will notify the winners directly.

To apply, students or a parent/guardian must be a member of the NCGA. Past scholarship winners and employees and the families of employees of any division of BASF or their subsidiaries or the NCGA are not eligible for the scholarship. Students may apply for membership at NCGA.comApplications must be submitted by December 1, 2019The application is available here: http://www.ncga.com/scholarships.

Fellowships for Undergraduate STEM Students from the East Asian Studies Center

Application Deadline: Monday, February 3, 2020, 4:30 p.m. EST

These fellowships are available to undergraduate students of junior or senior standing in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field who have successfully completed two years of East Asian language study at the college level. Academic Year 2020-2021 fellowships are expected to contribute $10,000 towards tuition and fees and also provide a $5,000 stipend. Summer 2020 fellowships are expected to cover $5,000 in tuition and fees and also provide a $2,500 stipend. Subject to approval, FLAS fellowships may also be used for foreign language and area studies at other U.S. or foreign institutions. Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships
The program offers summer and academic year fellowships for students who are pursuing a degree and need advanced training in language and area studies. Fellows receive a tuition and fee credit up to $10,000 to subsidize enrollment in language and/or area studies coursework as well as receiving a stipend (up to $5,000)! Fellowships are open to students in any major who are interested in learning Portuguese, Quechua, or another language of Latin America (not including Spanish). Additional Information available here.
