The individual hired will join a team of agricultural and community educators with a division of effort that supports the development of agricultural educators at the graduate and undergraduate level, through instruction (55%); the creation of a nationally recognized research agenda (40%); and active service (5%) to the department. Applicants should have an interest in collaboration (through research or instruction) that supports the linkages between agricultural education, and other subject areas in the College of Agriculture, Food and the Environment.

Applicants that are considered for candidacy will demonstrate evidence of an established publication record; interests in diversity and inclusion; teaching experience in higher education; effective written communication, a compelling (complimentary to the department needs) research agenda; and professional experience in industry.

Now Open – College Scholarship Application for the 2020-2021 academic year – Priority Deadline: February 15, 2020
All students in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences are encouraged to fill out the College Scholarship Application for the 2020-21 academic year.

You will only need to fill out one application to be eligible for scholarships from the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, School of Environment and Natural Resources, and ATI/Wooster. The priority deadline for completing the application is February 15, 2020.

The simple on-line form requires you to write a short 300 word essay, list of present and previous work experience, involvement in extracurricular activities, provide details about involvement in groups. Students in the School of Environment and Natural Resources will only need to complete this application for 2020-21 as the supplemental questions are within this application. Applicants who have participated in 4-H regardless of University/College, Campus, or major are to complete this application and the additional supplemental questions when you check “Yes” on the involvement in 4-H.

FAFSA Now Available for Next Year – Start Filling Out Now!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the University Special Scholarships Application and the CFAES Scholarship Application for the 2020-2021 academic year are now available.
What you need to do now:
File the FAFSA today at fafsa.gov or on the myStudentAid app. The 2020-2021 FAFSA requires income information from your 2018 tax returns. Learn more at fafsa.gov

Make it a priority. The 2020-2021 Ohio State priority date for the FAFSA and the University Special Scholarships Application is February 1, 2020. The CFAES Scholarship Application priority date is February 15, 2020.

National Corn Growers Association Scholarship Opportunity
The National Corn Growers Association is again offering its William C. Berg Academic Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship thanks to the sponsorship of BASF Corporation.

Five $1,500 scholarships are available to undergraduate students at an accredited college or university. The five scholarship winners and their parent/guardian will be announced at NCGA’s annual tradeshow and convention, Commodity Classic, which will be held on February 26 – February 29, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas.

Applicants or a parent/guardian must be a member of the NCGA. Past scholarship winners and employees and the families of employees of any division of BASF or their subsidiaries or the NCGA are not eligible for the scholarship. Students may apply for membership at https://membership.ncga.com/mobile/member.htmlApplications must be submitted by December 1, 2019. The online application is available here: http://www.ncga.com/scholarships.

Australia: Human Impacts on the Natural Environment (May 6-29, 2020)
This May program has students exploring the relationship between humans and their natural systems through the lens of environmental sustainability; all while traveling through stunning parks, forests and coastlines.

Panama: Through the Lens of AgriCulture, Sustainability and Diversity (April 29-May 10, 2020)
This course is designed to give students a different perspective on agriculture and other economic sectors that influence food, fiber, and fuel. Students will also have the opportunity to explore culture outside of the classroom and view, first-hand, food and production based on varying available natural resources, socioeconomic status and needs of the region and/or country.

South Africa: Exotic Animal Behavior and Welfare (April 30-May15, 2020 or May 18-June 3, 2020)
This May program takes students on a safari through parks and refuges where they study wild animal behavior and welfare by observing animals in their native habitat.

England: Evolution in Darwin’s World and ours– Entomology (May 5-16, 2020)
