National Teach Ag Internship Applications due soon

ACEL Banquet on April 11
The annual recognition dinner for 2016 graduates, scholarship recipients and others will be the evening of Monday, April 11 at the Ohio 4-H Center at 6pm. All ACEL students are invited to attend. RSVP here to receive a sponsored student ticket. Additional tickets can be purchased for $5 by contacting wickham.24@osu.edu.

NAAE Intern Applications Due
The National Teach Ag Campaign is seeking the nation’s most outstanding agricultural education majors to represent the profession as National Teach Ag Ambassadors at the 2016 National FFA Convention career show, October 19 to 22 in Indianapolis, IN and throughout the year at the state level. CFAES Thank a Donor Day
Tuesday, April 5th is Thank-a-Donor Day! CFAES will be celebrating by writing thank you notes to our loyal donors! This is a simple way to show our supporters our appreciation.  Lunch will be provided, so please join us for as long as you can!

What: Writing short thank you notes to our college’s loyal donors
Where: Columbus Campus – Ag Admin Building Room 105
Wooster Campus – ATI Housing Community Room
When: April 5th from 11:30 – 1:00 pm
Who: Open to all CFAES – Faculty, Staff and Students
How: Supplies and scripts will be provided. Simply show up and write!

Grad Student Professional Development Conference
The Graduate Student Association for the Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership will host a professional development conference on April 6, 2016 in the Agricultural Administration Auditorium. For additional information and to RSVP visit: http://go.osu.edu/ACELconference2016

Agricultural Communication Critique & Contest
Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow members are invited to submit work to the NACT Critique and Contest. Divisions include writing, publication, electronic media, photography, design and layout, and public relations, with multiple categories in each division. Complete rules listed here and entry form here.

CFAES Cultural Exploration April 30
Join CFAES faculty, staff, and students for a cultural exploration on April 30. We will travel to the National Underground Railroad Museum and Freedom Center followed by an afternoon at Jungle Jim’s International Market. There is no cost but you must register here and provide a $5.00 seat deposit. For those on Columbus Campus you can drop it off to the front desk in room 100 of the Agricultural Administration Building. For Wooster Campus you can drop it off in room 128 Skou Hall. We are providing transportation from Wooster to Columbus to the Freedom Center and Jungle Jim’s.

Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP).
Interested in living and working in our nation’s capital while earning a full semester of Ohio State credit? Make the Capital your classroom! Become a John Glenn Fellow with the Washington Academic Internship Program (WAIP). Fall 2016 applications are due Monday, April 4, with interviews the following week. The application is now open and can be accessed on our website. Contact WAIP Program Manager Katy Hogan at hogan.124@osu.edu with further questions.

Future Leaders Forum Fellowship Announcement 2016
The Future Leaders Forum, supported by the Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development (AIARD), represents an opportunity for students to become more familiar with international agricultural activities undertaken in Washington, D.C. as well as an opportunity to network with potential employers, colleagues, and collaborators. The fellowship supports attendance at AIARD’s annual conference in Washington, DC from June 5-7, 2016, followed by visits to a number of globally-engaged agencies and organizations in the area (e.g. USAID, USDA-FAS, World Bank, etc.). The application is online and due by April 12.

Buckeye Summit to be hosted on April 14
At the Buckeye Summit, you’ll join Ohio State researchers and passionate students in discussing real solutions. Find out more about the four focus areas that will guide our discussion: Farming and environment, Health and nutrition, Business and entrepreneurship, and policy. Register online.
