ACEL Spring Recognition Event Date Set
The 2nd Annual ACEL Spring Recognition Event will be held on Tuesday, April 21. Additional details will be emailed soon!

National FFA Convention and Expo Accepting Applications for Workshop Presenters

The National FFA Organization will be selecting presenters to deliver workshops at the 88th National FFA Convention& Expo in Louisville, Ky. Workshop presenters will present at least one workshop that they write themselves. Theworkshop objectives will be cross-walked to the National FFA Organization’s precepts for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. Deadline for application is June 15. Employers on Campus (EOC) – Students Can Meet With Employers
Employers on Campus is an opportunity for students to visit with employers, no appointment needed! The student may ask for an employer to review their resume or cover letter, conduct a mock interview or ask for career insight. The following companies will be on campus in the CFAES Library and Student Success Center:

  • The Columbus Metro Parks will be on campus March 31 from 12-4pm. Metro Parks is a public agency serving the citizens of Central Ohio by providing a regional system of clean, safe, natural area parks. There are 17 outstanding natural area parks with more than 200 miles of trails and over 27,000 acres of land in seven Central Ohio counties.
  • Consolidated Grain and Barge will be on campus April 16 from 9am – 12pm. CGB provides an array of services for grain farmers from buying, storing, selling and shipping of the crop, to financing and risk management.
  • Ohio Ecological, Food and Farm Association will be on campus April 21 from 11am-2pm. OEFFA is a grassroots coalition of farmers, backyard gardeners, consumers, retailers, educators, researchers and others who share a desire to build a healthy food system that brings prosperity to family farmers, meets the growing consumer demand for local food, creates economic opportunities for our rural communities and safeguards the environment.

Now Hiring Residence Hall Peer Tutors
The Office of Residence Life is currently hiring peer tutors for the 2015-16 academic year. Peer Tutors work in one of 8 residence halls (Monday-Wednesday) or Younkin Success Center (Sunday-Thursday) from 7-9 PM. We specialize in math, physics and chemistry, but can also tutor in many other areas. Applications are due to tutoring@osu.edu by April 3. Yamaha-ACT Scholarship
The Yamaha-ACT Scholarship Program Sponsored by Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A. Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., is pleased to continue its scholarship program in 2014-15 for student members of the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT). Yamaha recognizes the agricultural/farming industry as an important community for ATV and Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicles, and through this program Yamaha aims to:

  • Provide ACT students with assistance where they seek it most: professional development
  • Promote and encourage safe and responsible use of ATVs and SxS vehicles
  • Introduce additional members of the agriculture/farming community to Yamaha products

These scholarships are intended for students interested in pursuing a career in agricultural communications. By reaching out to students in this capacity, Yamaha is striving to reach the future of the industry and recruit assistance in communicating messages of safe, responsible ATV and SxS use to the greater agriculture/farming community now and in the future. International Foodservice Editorial Council Scholarships
IFEC is a non-profit membership association. Its 250 members include writers and editors, public relations and marketing communications professionals, educators and consultants working in and with the foodservice media. Through its scholarship program, IFEC strives to increase awareness and understanding of career opportunities available in the field of foodservice communications and to encourage the entry of qualified individuals into the field. The number and amounts may vary. In recent years, four to six awards in amounts of $500 to $4,000 have been granted. A committee made up of members of the International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) reviews the applications and selects the winners. Scholarship recipients are notified by mid-July.
