Wayne Carlson Friend of ACADAOS Award

As advisors, we rely on many other units at the university to do our jobs well. At the annual ACADAOS Recognition Ceremony, we recognize one of these invaluable units with our Wayne Carlson Friend of ACADAOS Award.

This award is named after Wayne Carlson, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Design, who served as the University’s Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies and Dean for Undergraduate Education from 2009 until his retirement in 2017. As Vice Provost, Dr. Carlson supported academic advising by promoting it as a focus of the University’s Higher Learning Commission Quality Initiative Project. He also helped to establish an academic advising career ladder and obtained central funding to address inequities in advisor salaries. For this strong support of the University advising staff throughout his thirty-year tenure at Ohio State, his advocacy and sponsorship will forever make him a friend of ACADAOS.

We are always accepting nominations for the Friend of ACADAOS Award. If you would like to nominate an individual, group of individuals, or an office, please fill out this nomination form.
